MURDER SQUAD: Army Of Maggots Rises From The Ashes

August 2, 2002

Sweden's MURDER SQUAD, featuring DISMEMBER bassist Rickard Cabeza, DISMEMBER vocalist Matti Kärki, ENTOMBED guitarist Uffe Cederlund and ENTOMBED drummer Peter Stjärnwind, are currently shopping an already-completed sophomore full-length effort, entitled Ravenous, Murderous, to interested record companies for a tentative late 2002 release. The album, which features a guest appearance by former DEATH/AUTOPSY drummer Chris Reifert, was completed at a Stockholm studio over a two-week period in March, and is set to include the following tracks, among others:

01. Army Of Maggots
02. Ravenous, Murderous
03. Homocide (intentional misspelling)
04. Disturbing The Freaks
05. Born In Sewage, Bred In Bile
06. Rising From The Ashes

According to an official statement from the band, "we have a very special guest joining the sick minds at work team. Chris Reifert flew over to participate in the recording, contributing with lyrics and music he added his personal sickness to the material."

In related news, THE RAVENOUS, who feature in their ranks Reifert on drums/guitar/vocals, former BRUTAL TRUTH/NUCLEAR ASSAULT bassist Danny Lilker, and NECROPHAGIA frontman Killjoy, are reportedly due to issue a four-song EP, entitled Apocalyptic Paranoid, through Killjoy's Baphomet label, to be followed by a full-length album, entitled Blood Delirium, in early 2003.
