MURDERDOLLS Frontman: PETER STEELE Was 'A Huge Influence On Me'

April 16, 2010

On Thursday, April 15, Shawn of Rockstar Radio conducted an interview with Wednesday 13 of the activated MURDERDOLLS about the band's forthcoming second album, "Women and Children Last", and the passing of Peter Steele of TYPE O NEGATIVE.

Regarding Steele's untimely death, Wednesday said, "[TYPE O NEGATIVE was a] killer band, [and Peter was a] killer guy altogether. I luckily got to know those guys and I did some tours with them. It kind of bummed me out this morning getting the full confirmation on it and taking a look at pictures and stuff. It's a shitty day, but that guy was fucking killer — a huge influence on me, a great great band, an underrated artist. [He will be] truly missed."

Wednesday 13 described the upcoming MURDERDOLLS CD (set for release in late August) as "a pissed off, high-octane record," and as a "collaboration of my and Joey's [Jordison] past seven years."

The interview, which can be heard in the YouTube clip below, will air today (Friday, April 16) at 5:30 p.m. MST on Missoula's rock station 96.3 The Blaze and streamed at www.963theblaze.com.

"Women And Children Last" was recorded at a studio in Hollywood Hills, California with producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD) and features a guest appearance by MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars.
