MUSHROOMHEAD: New Album Video Preview Available
February 3, 2006Cleveland, Ohio's MUSHROOMHEAD are scheduled to release their sixth studio album on June 6 via Filthy Hands/Megaforce. The album's projected first single, "Watch Me Go", is expected in May. A video preview for the new CD can be seen at this location.
MUSHROOMHEAD's follow-up to 2003's "XIII" (Republic/Universal) will mark the group's recording debut with singer Waylon, who replaced frontman J. Mann in 2004.
With regards to the upcoming CD, MUSHROOMHEAD drummer-producer Steve "Skinny" Felton told the Cleveland Scene in December, "It's all over the map. A lot of people who've heard it think of the first album, mixed with a little bit of 'XIII'. It's a harsh contrast between songs. There's some brutal, brutal, sick stuff, like old-school HATRIX or LAMB OF GOD. And with Waylon able to sing so well, there's some more melodic stuff going on. The one thing Waylon doesn't do that J. did is rap."
The disc will be mastered by Bill Korecky (INTEGRITY) at Mars Studios. Felton said the band plans to release versions of the disc with eight different covers, one designed by each member.
