MUSHROOMHEAD's JEFFREY NOTHING: Solo Track Available For Streaming

October 3, 2011

"Sin 'O Cism", a new song from Jeffrey Nothing, the haunting voice behind Cleveland's pioneering alterna-metal collective MUSHROOMHEAD, can be streamed below (courtesy of AOL's Noisecreep). The track appears on Nothing's new solo album, "The New Psychodalia", which will be released on October 10 via Suburban Noize Records.

"The song 'Sin 'O Cism' is a view of the state of the world today," commented Nothing. "Government by the people is nothing more than a fantastic oxymoron. Money, or the lack thereof, is a huge deciding factor when it comes to one's guilt or innocence and whether or not said individual will continue to walk free or rot behind bars. You would think humanity would make strides toward peace, enlightened by the costs in loss of life, from years of conflict and yet nothing really seems to ever change. We burn through our natural resources at a blinding pace with no thought of what our children's children will use and life itself has dropped in worth much faster than our struggling dollar. Throughout all of this it is still us against them. The poor multitudes drowning in hope as the rich shell out hundreds a plate for the next best liar. We all create our own monsters because we want to believe someone so badly."

Nothing previously stated abut "The New Psychodalia", "The whole album is about escaping reality. People choose a variety of ways to feel better in the face of the depression that can be caused by trying to survive in a world that can seem completely uncaring and smothering. 'The New Psychodalia' is like a new safe hallucinogenic that makes all the ugliness in the world beautiful, with no harmful side effects. The entire album is kind of like a twisted, thought provoking view of the truths. It exposes the lies of the American dream that has really become more of a nightmare."

Jeffrey Nothing is ready to open the door and reveal the skeletons buried beneath the floor boards with the release of "Nothing - The New Psychodalia". Mixing hypnotic rhythmic grooves and punishing riffs, along with Jeffrey Nothing's beautifully deranged lyrics, the effort is a tormented soundscape that shakes listeners to the core.

"The New Psychodalia" was produced by MUSHROOMHEAD drummer Steve "Skinny" Felton.

Fans can catch Nothing on MUSHROOMHEAD's Slaughterhouse Roadshow Tour with PSYCHOSTICK, MOTOGRATER, BLUE FELIX, VENTANA and TENAFLY VIPER.
