MY RUIN: Brighton Footage Posted Online
February 15, 2008Video footage of Los Angeles rockers MY RUIN performing a three-song medley — "Through The Wound", "Heartsick" and "Blasphemous Girl" — at The Concorde 2 in Brighton on their recent UK tour can be viewed below.
MY RUIN will play a headlining show at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood tonight (Friday, February 15). This will mark the group's first hometown performance with new drummer Marcelo Palomino, who previously played with MY RUIN singer Tairrie B. in both MANHOLE and TURA SATANA.
In other news, MY RUIN has premiered the animated video for the song "Memento Mori", from the group's new album, "Throat Full of Heart", which was released last month on MY RUIN's imprint label Rovena Recordings via Cargo Records UK. The clip was created by the infamous Berlin-based artist Bruce Stirling John Knox.
Commented Tairrie: "Bruce is an incredible artist and had done a couple paintings of me which were really dark and beautiful. We had no idea he was also into making videos until we saw what he did for the TOM WAITS song 'Make it Rain'. I discussed the idea of having him create something for our new album and picked the song I felt he would most vibe with and he just came up with this Dante's Inferno-esque concept keeping it within the theme of the album but based around my accident on a whole different level. I think his interpretation of my fighting the devil and death in the depths of hell is kinda cool and really powerful in its message. It's a fun video to watch and something very different to add to our collection. We actually debuted it in London at our album-launch party as we celebrated my birthday to a great response but we wanted to wait until Valentine's Day to officially show it off online since it has to do with the whole idea of having the heart to survive no matter what the circumstance."
