MY RUIN Frontwoman To Record Vocals For New Album In November

MY RUIN lead vocalist Tairrie B., who was "seriously injured" in a car accident in late September, has issued the following message via the group's MySpace page:

"We feel it is important to let everyone know what is going on as the days and weeks pass. While it might have been easier to keep the accident quiet and simply go through it alone and privately with only our very close friends and band, Mick [Murphy, MY RUIN guitarist] and I felt we needed to share the story for many reasons. Especially me.

"People get in accidents every day. While many die, many more survive. I want to be able to look back on what happened and know that while it was one of the hardest points of my life, I made it through.

"Lately I've read many letters from people telling me their own stories of severe and life threatening injuries. Some have been truly shocking. With each letter I read, I try and find a new inspiration. I've learned a lot from this accident. About myself and other people and in many ways I feel changed.

"While it's true that I find the Bible a fascinating story and I heavily use religious imagery within my lyrics and art, I am not a very religious person. When you feel like you are about to die, things come into your mind. Things that you cannot explain or even attempt to understand. On the night of the accident many things came into my mind. And many people.

"After thinking about it all, alone and inside my own heart... I feel like I had a guardian angel watching over me. Things could have ended up far worse. I'm glad I had a friend or two up there. I'm also glad that I have some incredible friends down here. In my life.

"Thank you so very much to those of you who have walked with me through this in person each and every other day. Even if two of you are thousands of miles away.

"My fourth surgery went really well yesterday. I had the skin graft and I feel exhausted but on my way. Skin was removed from my upper left leg. The area was a bit bigger and longer than a CD case. At the moment I am on heavy duty painkillers and antibiotics. My leg feels like someone is holding a blowtorch to it. Mick photographed it last night all wrapped up pretty in salve and a clear cellophane like bandage which is going to protect it and help it to heal over the next couple of weeks. My arm also burns due to the graft but the second hole is finally closed which was our biggest concern. There is also very intense pulling on my skin where it was sewn together last week. I have two more trips to my doctor and two more weeks of healing my arm in a heavy duty wrap from above the elbow to the fingers, then I will be ready to see everything, come home with a cellophane bandage like my leg and start the serious rehab process. Fingers crossed.

"I have set some new goals for myself which include recording vocals for the new album in late November and our first show back which we have booked under the condition I am physically ready to rock. This will be for my birthday. In Los Angeles this time. January 2007."
