NAPALM DEATH, Ex-BENEDICTION Members Join Forces In ABSOLUTE POWER

March 26, 2011

ABSOLUTE POWER, the U.K.-based classic metal band featuring former/current members of NAPALM DEATH and BENEDICTION as well as producers behind albums for such acts as PARADISE LOST, EVILE and CROWBAR, will release its long-awaited, self-titled album on May 9. The NWOBHM-inspired, fist-pumping warriors have been sitting on the finished product for some time, but are now ready to unleash the solos, the riffs... and the power.

ABSOLUTE POWER is:

* Simon Efemey (producer; PARADISE LOST, CROWBAR) - Vocals
* Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH, BRUJERIA) - Bass
* Mitch Harris (NAPALM DEATH) - Guitar
* Russ Russell (producer; EVILE, DIMMU BORGIR) - Guitar
* Ian Treacey (BENEDICTION, MEATHOOK SEED)- Drums

If the band lineup wasn't stellar enough, the band has roped in some well-known metal mates for guest appearances. Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, BEYOND FEAR, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) provides additional piercing vocal violence, with a '70s solo assault being launched by DIAMOND HEAD founder Brian Tatler.

Commented Embury: "I am very excited to finally get our debut album out there; it's been a long labor of love for us and it's only through our united passion for true heavy metal that we are here today!

"If all goes well with this download release, we hope to release the album in true classic heavy metal style on a limited-edition gatefold vinyl release, which will be awesome!"

The album, released via FETO Records, will be available for download from iTunes, Amazon and all usual outlets from May 9.
