NASUM To Make Statement About Missing Singer At Swedish Awards Show

January 22, 2005

Swedish grindcore merchants NASUM have posted the following message on their web site:

"On Saturday 22nd January, NASUM will attend the 'P3 Guld' award show in Gothenburg. Initially we were supposed to play at the awards (an extended version of 'Circle of Defeat') but since we're one member short [a reference to the group's singer/guitarist Mieszko Talarczyk, who is among several hundred Swedes still missing in Thailand following the massive undersea earthquake measuring 8.7 on the Richter scale and resulting tsunamis along South Asia's coasts — Ed.], we will of course not play at the show, but instead take the opportunity to make a statement during the scheduled time for our song.

"We are also nominated for the best rock/metal prize that we won last year.

"The show is broadcasted live on Swedish radio P3 [between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.], and shown on Swedish TV SVT2 with a slight delay between [9:15 p.m and 11:15 p.m.] Check it out."
