NECROPHAGIST: Video Interview, Live Footage Available

May 10, 2007

Metal Injection has just launched its coverage of the Maryland Deathfest IV in anticipation for the fifth version of the festival happening this Memorial Day weekend. The coverage features the first-ever video interview with NECROPHAGIST frontman Muhammed Suiçmez. Muhammed does not hold back about his feelings about his label, touring the U.S. and more. Here are some excerpts:

On how their first tour is going/why it took so long for them to tour here:

"The response here has been amazing. We have been told by our label that it's not a good idea to come here. They did not believe in us having a market here. We got brainwashed over a year and basically we were not supposed to do this tour but its doing very good. Basically, there is no tour support, nothing because they said the tour isn't going to help the band, help the label, but we see the total opposite. So that's how the business is. We're happy to be here, we paid for everything ourselves, but that's how our label is. The American fans are one of our f*cking best, man."

On finding people who can pull of his music:

"It was a pain in the ass early on, but now it's not as hard. A lot of our fans are guitar players themselves. So basically, our new guitar player was a fan of NECROPHAGIST, and he just happened to be an amazing guitar player, so that's what happened."
