NEGURA BUNGET: Trailer For 'Focul Viu' DVD Released

January 12, 2011

A trailer for "Focul Viu", the forthcoming DVD from NEGURA BUNGET — the Romanian band that incorporates elements of black metal, progressive metal, folk metal and dark ambient — can be viewed below. The DVD will be released in March 11 (Germany and Austria) and March 14 (rest of the Europe) via Lupus Lounge/Prophecy Production.

The footage for "Focul Viu" was filmed/recorded back in December 2008 at a concert in Bucharest. The full 90-minute performance will be released both as a DVD and a two-CD set.

NEGURA BUNGET is putting the finishing touches on a new mini-CD, "Poarta De Dincolo" (English translation: "A Gate From The Above" or "Carrying From The Other Side"). The effort is being recorded once again at Negura Music studio and, as the title suggests, focuses on exploring the relation between worlds, either from above, under or beyond.

"Poarta De Dincolo" will mark NEGURA BUNGET's final release for Code666 Records, putting an end to a collaboration that began almost 10 years ago.

NEGURA BUNGET's latest album, "Vîrstele Pamîntului" (English translation: The Ages of the Land/Earth),came out in the U.S. on August 10, 2010 via Aural Music/MVD. The CD was tracked at Negura Music studio under the supervision of sound engineer Mihai Toma. The group stated in a press release, "'Vîrstele Pamîntului' is an album about embracing your destiny, about choosing and consciously assuming a way of life. The earth is where we came from and where go back into, the one from above and beyond us. Understanding and respecting it is understanding yourself, your purpose and destiny. 'Vîrstele Pamîntului' is an album about places of the earth and places of the spirit, about bounds transcending worlds."
"Maiestrit", a magical and passionate reinterpretation of NEGURA BUNGET's classic album "Maiastru Sfetnic" (2000),was released in February 2010 by Lupus Lounge. This record contains the last studio recordings of the classic NEGURA BUNGET lineup (Hupogrammos, Sol Faur, Negru).
