NEMHAIN's 'From The Ashes' To Finally See Light Of Day This Month

January 12, 2010

NEMHAIN — the U.K.-based band featuring AT THE GATES/ex-CRADLE OF FILTH drummer Adrian Erlandsson and his wife, Amber — will release its long-awaited debut album, "From The Ashes", on January 22 via Tiefdruck-Musik. The CD was recorded and mixed over a three-week period in April 2008 at Studio Fredman in Hyssna, Sweden.

Commented Daniel Heerdmann of Tiefdruck-Musik: "We have been looking for a band with that death-rock-spit-blood-and-sweat attitude for a very long time. I guess it was fate that the first track we heard from the band, 'ANA', starts with a RAMONES-like 1-2-3-4 count-in! It was instantly clear that we had found the band we have been looking for.

"NEMHAIN makes honest, straight-to-the-point rock 'n' roll music without any fake claptrap."

Added NEMHAIN lead singer Amber Erlandsson: "After forming NEMHAIN one fateful night back in 2006, we've been on a veritable rock 'n' rollercoaster of a trip to get to where we are today! We're a few days away from our three-year anniversary of whiskey-soaked, death-rock-tinged mayhem. So what better time to sign a deal in blood with Tiefdruck-Musik?! The deal's been gestating for nine months, but we're finally ready to give birth to our debut album, 'From The Ashes'. We are most impressed with Tiefdruck label manager Daniel Heerdmann, who also signed it in blood; now that's commitment."

NEMHAIN's video for the song "Second Skin" can be viewed below. The clip was filmed in January 2009 at a west London studio with Dr. Palser (MY DYING BRIDE, SALVATION, IMMORTAL) and it features Gramdrax of TED MAUL filling in for Peter Dolving of THE HAUNTED, who duets with Morrigan on the track.

"Second Skin" is a cover version of a song by THE GITS, one of the more noteworthy rock outfits to emerge from Seattle in the early '90s.
