NEVERMORE, EVERGREY Confirmed For PROGPOWER USA VII Festival

January 26, 2006

Seattle band NEVERMORE and Swedish progressive/power metal band EVERGREY have been confirmed to headline ProgPower USA VII.

"This isn't just another EVERGREY appearance," said promoter Glenn Harveston. "We are going to recreate the magic of the band's DVD, 'A Night to Remember'." For only the second time ever, the EVERGREY choir will be joining the band on stage at the festival. In addition to the exclusive choir appearance, the Poulenc String Quartet from Atlanta will be performing with the band on stage.

"It feels absolutely great to be able to bring this special show to Atlanta and the American audience!" said EVERGREY guitarist/vocalist Tom Englund. "This was only meant to be a once in a life time show, but Glenn has made it impossible for us to say no. ProgPower USA has been like a second home for us in America. It always feels great to arrive there and know that the crew's attitude will portray a professionalism rarely encountered elsewhere."

NEVERMORE will close out the festival on Saturday night. Fresh off last year's Gigantour stadium tour and a slot on OPETH's last North American tour, NEVERMORE has gained critical and fan praise for its latest release, "This Godless Endeavor".

"I think the band deserves a hell of a lot more than another direct support slot," Harveston said. "The time for a full headline set is now and this is the place to do it. If they want to play three hours, then they are going to play three hours."

NEVERMORE and EVERGREY are joining German power metal band SAVAGE CIRCUS, Dutch symphonic metal band EPICA, PYRAMAZE, WASTEFALL, Sweden's FREAK KITCHEN, Finland's THUNDERSTONE, Italy's VISION DIVINE, and Denmark's MERCENARY, who is returning to ProgPower due to overwhelming popularity at ProgPower IV.

ProgPower USA VII will take place on Friday and Saturday, September 15 and 16 at Earthlink Live in Atlanta. Tickets will go on sale Saturday, April 1 at 10 a.m. EST via all Ticketmaster outlets. Only 900 tickets will be made available to the public. Advance Gold Badges, which presently have a two-year wait list, are sold out.

ProgPower USA has sold out more than four months in advance for the past four years. Last year's festival sold out in a record four days.
