New KURT COBAIN Documentary Premiering In Toronto

August 8, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: A new documentary about late NIRVANA frontman Kurt Cobain will make its world premiere at this year's Toronto Film Festival, according to Gigwise.com. The film, titled "About A Son", will reportedly feature material from up to 25 hours of previously unreleased interviews with Cobain by journalist Michael Azerrad, who's also authored a book on the band. The documentary has been described as a "dream-like account of Cobain's own successes and failures, thoughts and experiences, allowing the audience unprecedented intimacy with a legendary figure in popular culture."

The interviews are said to be intermingled with footage from the three Washington state locales in which Cobain spent most of his formative years — Aberdeen, Olympia and Seattle.

The Toronto Film Festival will run from September 7 to September 16. There's no word on when or if "About A Son" will receive a general theatrical release.
