New Song Premiere: LORDS OF RUIN's 'The Darker Side Of Life'

July 7, 2014

"The Darker Side Of Life", the new single from LORDS OF RUIN, the Orange County, California-based hard rock band featuring former DROWN frontman Lauren Boquette, can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below.

"Lyrically this song was written about a darkness inside of me that I used to live in," says Lauren. "It was totally normal to me and I didn't see things any other way for a very, very long time. Funny thing, though, I never really knew I was even living in that dark place until one day it dawned on me that I had changed. Colors seemed to shine much brighter, the air and the ocean were alive, music, which was always magic to me, was even better and love was all around."

He continues: "After many years of feeling disconnected from this world, something switched and I plugged right into its core. I saw just how amazing this life can be and I now see a rich beauty in most things. It sounds really hippie or like some sort of religious nonsense but it isn't. It's the amazing thing called life and you only get one of them! Embrace it with all of your heart and live it as best you can. I can tell you first hand that when you step out of the darkness... life truly happens. I am grateful that I am from the darker side of life because without that, I would have never found the light."

LORDS OF RUIN rose from the ashes of SIX, which in 2009 released its critically acclaimed third album, "Between The War and the Warning". The CD featured guest appearances by Mike Clark from SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and bassist Tony Campos from STATIC-X.

LORDS OF RUIN released the "Life Is A War" album via Sullen Clothing's independent label Sullen Musik.

LORDS OF RUIN is:
