NEW YORK DOLLS Frontman Talks To NPR's TERRY GROSS: Audio Available

On Tuesday (Dec. 7),NEW YORK DOLLS frontman David Johansen spoke to Terry Gross, host of "Fresh Air", WHYY's national weekday magazine of contemporary arts and issues, about the group's early years and their decision to reunite for a tour and live album, among other topics. NEW YORK DOLLS recently released their first-ever live album, "Morrissey Presents: The Return of the New York Dolls - Live From Royal Festival Hall, 2004", via Morrissey's Attack label. The CD and accompanying DVD were recorded at the band's June show at the London venue as part of the Meltdown Festival.

The CD consists exclusively of DOLLS songs, while the DVD features such covers as JANIS JOPLIN's "Piece of My Heart", the SHANGRI-LAS' "Out in the Streets" and MEMPHIS MINNIE's "In My Girlish Days".
