New Zealand's AMIDST HAZE Putting Finishing Touches On Debut Album

September 19, 2007

AMIDST HAZE, the New Zealand-based progressive black/pagan metal band, is putting the finishing touches on its debut album, "A Dying Race". The Celtic-themed album is only awaiting completion of the last track "Ancient Dawn", the lyrics of which are being re-written to fit in with the theme that emerged by accident after the tracks had been selected.

Commented bassist Peter Davison: "The release was originally intended to be a longer demo made up of material written during our teenage years, but when we put the whole thing together we were surprised to find that the songs actually formed the thread of a story. After unconsciously telling a tale, we're now consciously finishing it by writing new lyrics for 'Ancient Dawn'."

Once recording has been completed, "A Dying Race" will be sent to the USA to be mixed and mastered.

Unmixed and unmastered tracks from "A Dying Race" can be heard on the band's MySpace page.
