Next Year's WACKEN OPEN AIR Is Already Sold Out

August 6, 2013

All 75,000 tickets to next year's edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place July 31 - August 2, 2014 in Wacken, Germany, were sold in less than 48 hours.

Comment the festival organizers: "A dozen bands for the billing have been already announced including several special and exclusive shows as well as high-class acts. As every year, we have made every effort to provide a terrific billing! And the announcements won't stop. During the Hamburg Metal Dayz (27th to 29th of September 2013) and our online Advent Calendar in December, we will at least confirm one band per day. Together we will turn the 25th anniversay of Wacken Open Air into a mega party!"

Confirmed acts so far:

AMON AMARTH
APOCALYPTICA
ARCH ENEMY
AVANTASIA
BEHEMOTH
CHILDREN OF BODOM
EMPEROR
ICED EARTH
KING DIAMOND
KREATOR
PRONG
SCHANDMAUL

Described as "the biggest heavy metal festival in the world," this year's Wacken Open Air featured performances by over 100 acts, including ALICE COOPER, DEEP PURPLE and MOTÖRHEAD.

All 75,000 tickets to this year's Wacken Open Air were sold as of last September — a little more than a month after being made available. This marked the eighth time in a row that Wacken Open Air was sold out and it was at the time the event's fastest sellout to date.

Around 30 percent travel from other countries to the festival, which over recent years has been growing in popularity.
