NIGHTWISH Are Tops With Germany's ROCKANTENNE Listeners
March 4, 2005Finland's NIGHTWISH recently added two more awards to their already impressive collection: The listeners of Rockantenne, the biggest rock and metal radio station in Southern Germany, named the group's "Once" CD and "Nemo" single the "Best Album" and "Best Song" of 2004, respectively. Other nominated artists included VELVET REVOLVER, ALTER BRIDGE, U2, and EUROPE.
As previously reported, NIGHTWISH won five prizes at at the Emma-Gaala (Finnish Grammy Awards-equivalent),which were held Saturday (Feb. 26) at Kulttuuritalolla in Helsinki. According to a posting on the group's web site, the Tarja Turunen-fronted outfit took home the awards for Finland Metal Album Of The Year (for "Once"),Best Selling Album, Band Of The Year, Export-Emma and Best Finnish Artist (as voted by the public).
