NIGHTWISH: 'Highest Hopes' Collection Certified Platinum In Finland
September 29, 2005NIGHTWISH's brand-new CD collection, entitled "Highest Hopes - The Best Of Nightwish", has been certified platinum in Finland for sales in excess of 40,000 copies. The album, which was released in two different formats (the normal version, and limited edition, featuring a bonus disc containing three video clips filmed at the Mera Luna Festival in Hildesheim, Germany in 2003: "She Is My Sin", "Dead to the World" and "Kinslayer"),features a cover of PINK FLOYD's "High Hopes" and a new recording of the song "Sleeping Sun", for which the band recently shot a video in Prague, Czech Republic. The clip was directed by Jörn Heitmann, who has previously worked with such artists as RAMMSTEIN ("Keine Lust", "Amerika") and THE RASMUS ("No Fear"). NIGHTWISH's most recent collection of new material, "Once", has sold about 100,000 copies in Finland so far.
All 11,000 tickets for NIGHTWISH's special October 21, 2005 concert at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki were sold out in less than an hour after they went on sale in July. The Hartwall Arena show will be NIGHTWISH's last before they take a lengthy break, estimated to last for at least 18 months, during which they will compose and record the follow-up to "Once".
