NIGHTWISH Vocalist To Exit Band To Focus On Music Studies
April 8, 2002Vocalist Tarja Turunen will leave Finland's NIGHTWISH in the fall to focus on her classical singing studies in Germany, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET.
NIGHTWISH will reportedly promote the release of their forthcoming Century Child CD with a host of European mini-tours and festival appearances during the summer, but will go separate ways once Turunen's school resumes at the end of the year.
Although Tarja's departure from NIGHTWISH has been rumored for several months now, it has not yet been confirmed or denied by an official source.
When recently asked about having to choose between a career in classical music and playing with NIGHTWISH, Turunen responded simply that of course I have only one career, and that's the opera career.
NIGHTWISH have thus far issued three full-length studio efforts and are in the process of completing the aforementioned Century Child CD for a July 1st release.
