NIKKI SIXX, Girlfriend KAT VON D Attend 'Heatherette' Launch Party; Photos Available

MTLEY CRE bassist Nikki Sixx and his current girlfriend, tattoo artist Kat Von D (the star of the A&E reality series "L.A. Ink"),attended the launch party for the M.A.C. Explaining how he hooked up with Kat Von D (born Katherine Von Drachenberg),Sixx wrote in a recent online posting, "She was going through a brutal divorce (as was I) and we were friends. Along the way, she met a great guy...and we were friends through that too. They broke up and we were still 'just' friends...I've never had a friend become the girl. Yes, it caught us both by surprise, as I'm sure some of you."

MTLEY CRE is currently working on its ninth studio album and first featuring all four original members since 1997's "Generation Swine". Sixx said in an online posting, "Tommy's (Lee, drums) kickin' ass, Vince (Neil, vocals) sounds insane and (Mick) Mars is shredding on guitars. It doesn't feel like one song is better or worse than any other. It feels so good to be excited about something you've worked on so hard...I'm so excited for you all to hear it."

The album, titled "The Dirt" after the group's memoir of the same name, is tentatively due out on July 8.
