NIKKI SIXX Says New BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION Songs Are 'Faster, Harder And Darker'

May 31, 2003

MÖTLEY CRÜE/BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION bassist Nikki Sixx has posted the following message to the "Rock'n'Roll Diary" section of CRÜE's official web site:

"We're [BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION] gonna pull out of [rehearsal] for awhile and finish up the lyrics and arraignments [sic] at my house. We plan on starting the album in late July (in a perfect world) in L.A. somewhere [with producer Steve Thompson (KORN, METALLICA, GUNS N' ROSES)]. No use sitting in a room wasting money until preproduction starts... We've written a bunch of new songs so I don't really know what will end up on the album. I know the CD of our demos will be available soon… but like I said... there's a good chance a lot of those won't make it... The BRIDES have found there [sic] sound… and it's a lot faster, harder and darker than most of the demo stuff… We did give 'My Revolution' and 'Only Get So Far' a facelift. So I imagine the demos will be a cool [collector's item] in years to come...

"Not much new to report… A lot of irons in the fire... and have my head down to the grindstone... Looking forward to seeing the first draft of the script for ['The Dirt'] movie any day now...

"Tons of new summer movies will have CRÜE music in them as well as cool CRÜE merch out via Dragonfly clothing... The DVD is just getting finished up as is the boxset... So even though there's no tour plans this year, there's still shitloads of MÖTLEY out there, and that's a good thing.

"I'm still writing a lot of music for outside artists. I'm having a blast with that… with no boundaries...

"I've been hooked on XM Radio (as has [BRIDES guitarist] Tracii [Guns])… It's fucking cool to hear some music I've never heard on **radio** before. On the extreme station I'm hearing music that would never be on a normal station 'cause its toooooooo heavy... I see myself going to the CD store a lot this summer... Yeah... guitars rule… [BRIDES drummer Scot] Coogan's going over to Japan to play drums for (someone) for a few weeks... so if your [sic] there… chase him down and get him drunk...

"Rock n roll like a motherfucker..

"Out… SIXX"
