NIKKI SIXX Says New SIXX: A.M. Songs Are 'All So Inspiring'

April 28, 2009

MÖTLEY CRÜE/SIXX: A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx has issued the following update:

"Being back in Los Angeles allows many things, first and foremost to be with my family. But the one difference on a creative level from touring is having my creative workspace to build the impossible. I always love when I can pull outta thin air a song, book, design etc, but mostly lately it's been all about my photography. I've done about six full shoots and six smaller still-life shoots as well. I've displayed some of it on my MySpace under 'Nikki Sixx Photography,' but by no means comes even close to what I have created or have plans for as a photogragher. I'm using all digital at this time, most notably the Hasselblad H3D-39 and the Nikon D3. Both wonderful animals with completely different views on the madness that pours outta my head.

"I hope you all enjoy the small bits I'm sharing at this time. The NEW songs for SIXX: A.M. are all so inspiring, It feels like we may have topped ourselves on this album coming up, and can't wait for you to hear what it sounds like. Keep an ear and an eyeball here and maybe a surprise might get dropped in the next few months..."

SIXX: A.M. is the project Sixx started a couple of years ago whose debut disc acted as a "soundtrack" to Sixx's memoir, "The Heroin Diaries". Sixx recently revealed that the second SIXX: A.M. effort is also a concept album, but that's about as far as he would go. "I can't really tell you what the concept is, because I think I'd just be kind of blowing the surprise, like telling what you're getting for Christmas before it comes," he said. "But it's gonna be a pretty powerful record. You know, sonically it does fall in line with the 'Heroin Diaries' record, but I think we're stretching out in certain ways where we can take in other styles of music and expand upon them."

Sixx's partners in SIXX: A.M. are James Michael and DJ Ashba.

Although SIXX: A.M. was initially just a studio project, a touring lineup did go on the road last summer as part of the first Crüe Fest package,

SIXX A.M.'s debut featured the hit "Life Is Beautiful".
