NINE INCH NAILS' REZNOR Answers Fan-Submitted Questions; Video Available

May 7, 2009

An hour-long, fan-organized interview with NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor conducted earlier this week can be viewed below. 10 questions were suggested and voted on by the NINE INCH NAILS online community. Bill (a.k.a. Papagolash) from NIN.com and EchoingTheSound.org is the interviewer via webcast.

Reznor has been on the cutting edge of what Wired.com calls a "post-label world" ever since leaving the corporate music industry behind in the fall of 2007.

Since then, he has released free music and live videos, issued albums as digital downloads and deluxe limited edition packages, made his web site and online ventures far more user-friendly and interactive, and embraced programs such as Twitter as a means to communicate directly with fans.

Reznor told Wired, "Anyone who's an executive at a record label does not understand what the Internet is, how it works, how people use it, how fans and consumers interact — no idea. I'm surprised they know how to use e-mail. They have built a business around selling plastic discs, and nobody wants plastic discs any more."

NINE INCH NAILS will head out on a co-headlining tour with JANE'S ADDICTION later this spring.

Reznor is engaged to fellow musician Mariqueen Maandig, of the band WEST INDIAN GIRL. The news was announced via a posting on Maandig's band's web site, which stated, "In case you haven't heard the news, Mariqueen got engaged. Everyone in the WEST INDIAN GIRL camp is super excited and happy for her. Q's an awesome person, friend and bandmate and she couldnt be marrying a cooler guy."

(Thanks: Jarrett)
