NIRVANA's 'Nevermind' Turned Into Dance Production
March 29, 2007Launch Radio Networks reports: NIRVANA's historic 1991 album "Nevermind" has been turned into a dance production by the Spectrum Dance Theater in Seattle, according to NME.com. The show is scheduled to make its world premiere this weekend (Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1) at the city's Moore Theatre. Choreographer Donald Byrd explained why he decided to create the show, saying, "The tragedy of his drug addiction that didn't allow (late frontman Kurt Cobain) to see with the kind of clarity that would have made for different choices, I was just kind of drawn to that."
Byrd added, however, that the show is not biographical and that Cobain's life "is just an inspirational departure point."
Although there were no details of the show's plot, dancers David Alewine and Allison Keppel will perform as Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love.
