NORTHER Not Taking Part In NO MERCY FESTIVALS European Tour After All

March 16, 2006

Finnish metallers NORTHER, who were set to replace FINNTROLL on the billing of the No Mercy Festivals European tour (alongside CANNIBAL CORPSE, KATAKLYSM and LEGION OF THE DAMNED),have been thrown off the trek. The group's bassist, Jukka Koskinen, has issued the following statement via their official web site:

"Unfortunately, we have to inform that we are forced to cancel the No Mercy tour. This cancellation was NOT our decision. Honestly we're so pissed off and maybe some of you because of what happened.

"At the moment it may be much better not to say anything more…it would be fatal. We were so much looking forward to tour the Europe since we haven't in a couple of years. But this chance got ruined… It seems like we're still doing the two last shows of the tour in Antwerpen and Tillburg. We'll confirm them as soon as we know…

"Again we're more than sorry of what happened. Hopefully we'll have 'better luck' later this year…"

NORTHER's latest album, "Till Death Unites Us", which was issued in the band's native Finland in late January, came out in the rest of Europe on March 13 (with some countries receiving the CD as early as February 27). "Till Death Unites Us" will be issued in Japan on May 3.

"Till Death Unites Us" entered the official Finnish chart at position No. 6 last month. The group's new single "Scream" recently entered the Finnish single chart at position No. 3.
