NOTHNEGAL Signs With SEASON OF MIST

July 1, 2010

Maldives-based death/black metallers NOTHNEGAL have inked a deal with Season Of Mist.

"We are proud to announce that we have signed a worldwide deal with Season Of Mist," guitarist Hilarl comments. "This is a huge step forward for us where our careers and our lives are concerned. We have heard nothing but great things about Season Of Mist and we are confident that we can take the band to the next level with them."

NOTHNEGAL will support FINNTROLL on a European tour in the fall. Also scheduled to appear are SAMAEL, ROTTING CHRIST and METSATÖLL.

NOTHNEGAL's recording lineup includes drummer Kevin Talley (DAATH, CHIMAIRA, MISERY INDEX, DYING FETUS) and keyboard player Marco Sneck (KALMAH, POISONBLACK).

NOTHNEGAL is currently working on a new album for a late 2010 release. "We focused mostly on creating a more unique sound which differentiates us more and the result turned out to be almost something completely different from what we had with 'Antidote of Realism' EP, but we still managed to keep the melodic keyboard elements intact while getting them to sound darker and epic than before," the band previously stated. "The songs contain a little bit of everything — from thrash metal, groove metal, death metal to black metal and doom — so we believe that the material is quite diverse as well. Apart from that, we have also incorporated some atmospheric ambient sounds/noises in the songs which are unique to the Maldivian environment."

A new NOTHNEGAL song, "Absolute Blood Unification", can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.

NOTHNEGAL's "Antidote of Realism" EP was self-released by the band last year. The CD was produced by Anssi Kippo, who has previously worked with CHILDREN OF BODOM and NORTHER, among others.
