OBSCENE GESTURE: New Music Posted Online
July 13, 2010Los Angeles, California-based hardcore/thrash metal purveyors OBSCENE GESTURE — featuring members of BODY COUNT, STRUNG OUT, and AGENT STEEL — have posted three new songs on their MySpace page. "Bad Idea", "I'm Sick" and "Question" come off the band's forthcoming album, "Forever Obscene".
First bursting onto the scene with 2006's "Living In Profanity", OBSCENE GESTURE is a highly volatile combination of East Coast hardcore and West Coast thrash. "We've all grown up on stuff like SLAYER, AGNOSTIC FRONT, EXODUS, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, CRUMSUCKERS and DARK ANGEL,", reflects frontman Guy Green. "And the way S.O.D. brought hardcore and metal together on 'Speak English Or Die' was very inspirational to us collectively so all that comes out in our music. This new record is probably a little bit more hardcore leaning compared to our debut — pure, unadulterated OBSCENE GESTURE doing what we do best. We're currently looking for a new label so hopefully we can get the album out before the end of the year."
"Forever Obscene" was recorded with the help of Roy Z. (HALFORD, DOWNSET),John Ewing (SLAYER, KORN),and Horacio Colmenares and mixed by guitarist/co-vocalist Vincent Dennis at In-Sinc Studios in Los Angeles, California.
OBSCENE GESTURE was originally conceived by vocalist Guy Green and original drummer Chuck Profus (AGENT STEEL),with bassist George Robb (AGENT STEEL, LSN, DETENTE),and guitarists Vincent Dennis (BODY COUNT, STEEL PROPHET) and Juan Garcia (AGENT STEEL, EVIL DEAD) joining the fold for "Living In Profanity". The band's current lineup features Green, Dennis, Garcia along with new arrivals Chris Aiken (STRUNG OUT) on bass and Keith Stanley on drums.
