OCCULT, HEARSE, EINHERJER, DISSECTION Reissues Due In March/April

March 2, 2005

Candlelight Records has announced the continuation of its reissue series with the upcoming Stateside release of key early or currently out-of-print releases from OCCULT, HEARSE, DISSECTION, EINHERJER, THY SERPENT, XYSMA, IN FLAMES and more. Starting with OCCULT's "Enemy Within" and "Prepare to Meet Thy Doom" (in stores March 22) and continuing through the 2-on-1 pressing of XYSMA's "Lotto" and "Girls on the Beach" albums (in stores June 28),these new recordings will all be specially priced and include bonus or enhanced material, expanded artwork or remastered recordings.

Holland's OCCULT have been active and producing quality recordings near on ten years. Their early albums, namely "The Enemy Within" and "Prepare to Meet Thy Doom", have long been out of print, due to the closing of the issuing label in 1996. Produced by Harris Johns, the recordings follow the 2004 release of their latest album, "Elegy for the Weak". In stores March 22, the recordings have been reworked; "Prepare to Meet Thy Doom" enhanced with five songs from the band's 1993 demo.

"Dominion Reptillian", the full-length debut from Sweden's HEARSE will finally hit U.S. shops on April 19. "Truly one-of-a-kind melodic death n' roll," says Deadtide.com of the band fronted by former ARCH ENEMY vocalist Johan Liiva. This much talked about recording features select bonus material unavailable on the European pressing and will preceed the release of the band's third album, currently titled "The Last Order", expected later in the year.

Their history is as colored, some say blackened, as their music. Dating back to the late '90s, Sweden's DISSECTION are to early Gothenburg as ENTOMBED is to early Stockholm death metal. Their now classic recordings, "The Somberlain", "The Storm of the Light's Bane", and "Where Dead Angels Lie" instantly propelled the band up death metal's rising hierachy, all before the untimely incarceration of vocalist/guitarist Jon Nodtveidt in 1997. "The Past is Alive", in stores April 5, contains early material from this respected band, including selections from their initial demos and the "Into Infinity Obscure" mini-album. The record also features two songs by SATANIZED, the early band of Nodtveidt with guitarist Johan Norman and drummer Tobbe Kellgren.

"Norwegian Native Art" from EINHERJER sees long-awaited U.S. release on April 19. Originally released on the band's own label, this 1999 recording was created at Andy LaRoque's (KING DIAMOND) Los Angered Studios. Now remastered by Peter In de Betou (DIMMU BORGIR, ENSLAVED, SUSPERIA) and containing bonus material from the band's "Blot" recordings, this record completes the recording history of this now defunct but highly respected viking/melodic death metal band.

Originally formed as a solo project for CHILDREN OF BODOM guitarist Sami Tenetz, doom/death metal band THY SERPENT have had scattered U.S. exposure due to unavailability of their recordings. This special 2-on-1 package set for release May 3 features both "Forests of Witchery" and the popular MCD "Lords of the Twilight", originally released in Europe circa 1996-97.

In the coming months Candlelight will see U.S. release of IN FLAMES' "Lunar Strain" and "Subterranean", both with extensive bonus material, the 2-on-1 pressing of XYSMA's unavailable "Lotto" and "Girl on the Beach", plus previously unavailable recordings from MERCENARY, PRIMORDIAL, ENTWINE, WARMEN, NIHILIST, MITHOTYN, WINDIR, and much more.
