Omaha's 'Darrell Abbott Memorial Show' To Benefit LITTLE KID ROCK

Little Kids Rock (LKR),an innovative non-profit music education program that provides free instruments and rock & roll lessons to public schools, will be the sole beneficiary of the 2008 Darrell Abbott Memorial Show, an all-day benefit concert and auction honoring the late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. The event will take place on August 23 at the Sokol Underground in Omaha, Nebraska and will feature several metal memorabilia items up for auction as well as an all-day concert featuring 20 metal bands from all over the Midwest.

The ticket price is $10 in advance and $12 day of show for general admission to the
concert. Tickets are available for purchase at all Homers Records stores in Omaha, Lincoln, Nebraska and Des Moines, Iowa as well as on www.etix.com Due to economic hardships and soaring gas prices, DWE lowered the ticket price of this year's event from $13 to $10 to make it as economically viable for the fans as possible.

Darrell Abbott was best known as the lead guitarist for PANTERA. The multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated band dominated the heavy metal world of the 1990s. The musician was shot and killed on December 8, 2004 in Columbus, Ohio while performing onstage with his new project, DAMAGEPLAN. He was 38 years old.
