OPERATIKA Taps SYMPHONY X Bassist For Poughkeepsie Concert
June 26, 2008New Jersey-based symphonic/power metallers OPERATIKA have enlisted SYMPHONY X's Michael LePond to play bass for the band's August 31 concert at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, New York as support for SONATA ARCTICA.
OPERATIKA will release its debut CD, "The Calling", later in the year through Scarlet Records. According to a press release, the album has been described as "the perfect combination of singer Slava Popova's harmonious operatic vocals, powerful guitar riffs and solos, melodic keyboard harmonies, intense bass (handled by Michael LePond of SYMPHONY X) and fierce drumming" a "must-have for every fan of NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS, HELLOWEEN, CHILDREN OF BODOM and PRIMAL FEAR."
OPERATIKA has previously shared the stage with such internationally renowned artists as NIGHTWISH, HELLOWEEN, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TWISTED SISTER, STRATOVARIUS, SONATA ARCTICA, SEBASTIAN BACH and KAMELOT.
OPERATIKA's "Dreamworld" four-song EP came out in 2005.
