Other nominees this year are CANDLEMASS ("Candlemass"),HAMMERFALL ("Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken"),HARDCORE SUPERSTAR ("Hardcore Superstar") and MESHUGGAH ("Catch Thirty Three").

OPETH's new album, "Ghost Reveries", is available now on Roadrunner Records. The band utilized the services of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD drummer Gene Hoglan during the bulk of this summer's Sounds of the Underground tour after the group's regular skinsman, Martin Lopez, went back to Sweden for treatment of a rare blood disorder he's had for most of his life. The group have since enlisted Martin Axenrot (BLOODBATH, WITCHERY, NIFELHEIM) to take over Lopez' duties until he's fully recovered.
