British doomsters ORANGE GOBLIN will team up with legendary U.S. heavyweights SOLACE as main support for a U.K. tour in May 2007. Confirmed dates are as follows:

May 11 - London, The Underworld
May 12 - Southampton, Joiners

May 14 - Cardiff, Clwb Ifor Bach

May 16 - Manchester, Jabez Clegg (w/ THE HIDDEN HAND, STINKING LIZAVETA)
May 17 - Newcastle, Trillians
May 18 - Glasgow, Classic Grand
May 19 - Edinburgh, The Exchange

As previously reported, ORANGE GOBLIN have begun writing material for their new album, tentatively due next May via Sanctuary Records. Four tracks have already been completed and lots of ideas are coming together. The band says that the next record will definitely be a progression from 2004's "Thieving from the House of God" and will be based on its local history. Singer Ben Ward states that "it's not a concept album at all but we are using the theme of the Great Plague of London and the Great Fire that followed for a lot of lyrical and musical influence. It's definitely the strongest material we have written."

A few people have heard a couple of new songs that have been played in the recent live set and the band is currently drawing up a short list of potential producers and studios.

In other news, Ward will go into the studio this week to record a vocal track for the new MIDDIAN album, which is due out in April 2007. MIDDIAN is the new project of Mike from YOB and is one of the most hotly anticipated metal releases of next year. Ben will appear on the track "Sink to the Centre".
