June 5, 2010Vicky Bradley (a.k.a. Vix the Angel Of Metal) conducted an interview with original AC/DC frontman Dave Evans during the singer's recent U.K. tour. The chat is now available for viewing below.
Dave Evans, who recently signed a U.K.-exclusive deal with Rocksector Records to release his latest album, "Judgement Day", toured the U.K. in May. A U.K. version of Evans' band, THE BADDASSES, has been formed for this tour, featuring Chris Appleton (guitar) and Martin McNee (drums) from FURY UK and Marshall Gill (guitar) from NEW MODEL ARMY. The lineup was completed by Leon Gill (bass) from NEW UNION. These shows featured material from "Judgement Day" plus some AC/DC classics from both Dave's era in the band and respectfully the Bon Scott era.
"Judgement Day" was released in the U.K. on April 26 via Rocksector Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Sinner", which was made available in Australia in July 2008 through MGM, was recorded in Brisbane, Australia with producer Mark Tinson and features 10 tracks, including a cover of "House of the Rising Sun". The first single was "We Don't Dance to Your Song".
Evans was a member of AC/DC from the band's inception in 1973 until 1974. Following his departure from AC/DC, Dave Evans formed the wild hedonistic rock band RABBIT, Melbourne '80s rock outfit DAVE EVANS AND THUNDER DOWN UNDER, and lastly DAVE EVANS AND HOT COCKEREL. Dave Evans has also toured as a solo act, and in 2004 released his current album, "Sinner", on Germany's Cultural Minority record label. In 2005, Dave Evans toured across Holland, Germany and Switzerland with the renowned southern rock band MOLLY HATCHET.
