Original THE HELLACOPTERS Lineup To Reunite For SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL Appearance

October 31, 2015

According to SVT.se, the original lineup of the Swedish garage rock band THE HELLACOPTERS will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of its debut album, "Supershitty To The Max!", with an appearance at next year's edition of the Sweden Rock Festival, set to take place June 8-11, 2016 in Sölvesborg, Sweden. Also planned for next year is a special reissue of the LP, which was honored in the "Best Hard Rock/Metal" category at the Swedish Grammis awards (Swedish Grammy equivalent).

THE HELLACOPTERS was formed in 1994 by ENTOMBED drummer Nicke Andersson (on vocals and guitar) and BACKYARD BABIES guitarist Dregen.

"Supershitty To The Max!" was initially released on 500 units of clear vinyl, followed two weeks later by a CD version. A second vinyl release was available in 1997 with 1500 units in white vinyl, while Toys Factory also released the album in Japan with a cover version of the MISFITS song "Bullet" as a bonus track.

THE HELLACOPTERS' second album, 1997's "Payin' The Dues", was the band's last studio effort to feature Dregen before his departure to focus full-time on BACKYARD BABIES.

On October 12, 2007, THE HELLACOPTERS announced that they would be breaking up after the release of their seventh full-length album, "Head Off", a collection of cover songs.
