OUTWORLD Guitarist Vows To Carry On Following Singer, Keyboardist Departures

March 20, 2008

Guitarist Rusty Cooley of the Texas metal band OUTWORLD has vowed to carry on with the group following the recent departures of keyboardist Bobby Williamson and singer Carlos Zema.

Commented Rusty: "Matt [McKenna, drums], Shawn [Kascak, bass] and I will continue with a second guitarist no more keys. We are going for a much heavier sound. We are also going for a different-style singer. We are not looking to replace Kelly [Carpenter, original vocalist] or Carlos we are just looking for a bad-ass metal voice and that could be a lot of things."

TheMusicFarm.com has posted an interview with Rusty Cooley conducted at this year's winter NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show, which was held January 17-20 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Watch the footage below.

In late 2006, OUTWORLD released its self-titled debut on France's Replica Records to both critical and artist acclaim.

The band has been heralded as a blend of key influences PANTERA, SYMPHONY X, LAMB OF GOD, and DREAM THEATER, but with a sound all its own.
