OZZY OSBOURNE And HALF SUMO Launch First Official OZZY Jiu-Jitsu Collection

October 14, 2026

Ozzy Osbourne's unmistakable legacy enters the world of martial arts through a new collaboration with New York–based combat culture brand Half Sumo. The officially licensed collection launches Friday, October 23, and introduces the first official Ozzy Osbourne jiu-jitsu gear ever made: the "Crazy Train" No-Gi Set, a custom-designed rashguard and shorts, alongside the "Prince Of Darkness" Streetwear Set. Fans can sign up now for early access at halfsumo.com/pages/ozzy.

For more than five decades, Ozzy's name has been stamped on records, arena stages, festival lineups, television and pop culture worldwide. Now it arrives on the mats for the first time, as the Ozzy Osbourne brand enters Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, one of the fastest-growing combat sports in the world, practiced daily in academies from Brooklyn to Birmingham to Rio de Janeiro. The sport already runs in the family. Ozzy's son Jack Osbourne took up jiu-jitsu in his thirties, trains regularly and has earned his purple belt. Every piece in the collection is built to be trained in, sweated in and battle-tested.

Heavy metal and jiu-jitsu have more in common than either world lets on. Both were built by outsiders. Both reward obsession, repetition and the stubbornness to keep showing up when it hurts. Ozzy embodied that spirit: a working-class kid from Aston, Birmingham, who helped invent heavy metal with BLACK SABBATH, rebuilt himself as a solo icon, and spent a lifetime defying every prediction made about him. Since 2018, Half Sumo has been telling that same story of the underdog who refuses to tap.

Arriving just over a year after Ozzy's farewell "Back To The Beginning" performance at Villa Park and his passing in July 2025, the collection is officially licensed by the Ozzy Osbourne estate and designed as a living tribute. Half Sumo translates Ozzy's iconography into the brand's visual language of Ukiyo-e-inspired artwork, Irezumi tattoo tradition and streetwear, connecting a new generation of fighters to the Prince Of Darkness and introducing Half Sumo to the global metal community that made him a legend.

"We both grew up as lifelong Ozzy fans," said Half Sumo co-founders Luigi Scarcella and Alberto Marchetti. "Having the opportunity to collaborate on this project is a genuine honor for us and a way to celebrate his incredible legacy. Ozzy was the original underdog, and jiu-jitsu is built on that same spirit of the smaller person who refuses to quit."

The collection launching Friday, October 23:

"Crazy Train" No-Gi Set — A fully sublimated rashguard and matching grappling shorts built for training and competition. The rashguard is packed edge to edge with Ozzy's iconography in red, purple and bone white, with skulls, bats, the classic Ozzy logo and nods to "Mr. Crowley", "Bark At The Moon", "No More Tears", "War Pigs" and "Blizzard Of Ozz", all hand-drawn in Half Sumo's signature illustration style. The shorts are built around a giant bat-wing Ozzy lettered in purple over the same all-over artwork, with Half Sumo lettering down the leg.

"Prince Of Darkness" Streetwear Set — A limited run of everyday pieces for life off the mats. The zip-up hoodie carries a bat-wing Ozzy emblem crowned with the Half Sumo crest, and the graphic tees include a fanged, vampire-style Ozzy framed by bats, song titles and Japanese lettering. More surprises will be revealed at launch.

Every piece is produced in strictly limited quantities, with no restocks planned. When it sells out, it's gone. Ahead of launch, Half Sumo has opened a dedicated Ozzy landing page featuring the collaboration artwork, where fans can sign up for early access to the collection at halfsumo.com/pages/ozzy. Launch weekend pop-up: The day after launch, Half Sumo hosts an Ozzy-themed Halloween pop-up shop on Saturday, October 24 at its Brooklyn headquarters, 247 Water Street, Brooklyn, NY. The full collection will be available to shop in person.

Founded in New York City in 2018 by Alberto Marchetti and Luigi Scarcella, Half Sumo is an independent brand born on the mats and built around the culture, art and lifestyle that live beyond them.

Alberto Marchetti is a 4th-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under jiu-jitsu pioneer Renzo Gracie and a longtime figure in martial arts apparel and fashion. Luigi Scarcella is a three-time USA Full-Contact Kyokushin Karate Champion who represented the USA at the World Tournament in Tokyo in 2019 and 2023, and the artist behind Half Sumo's visual identity.

The brand's roots in the community run deep. During the pandemic, Luigi designed custom gear for more than 100 academies worldwide, with all profits going to the academies themselves and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for gyms from New York to Tokyo.

Half Sumo's visual language draws on Irezumi, Ukiyo-e and Japanese folklore as well as Western iconography, tattoo culture, graffiti, street art and underground illustration, all reinterpreted through the brand's own contemporary lens.

At its core, Half Sumo stands for one of martial arts' most enduring ideas: technique over size, and the belief that David can still take on Goliath.

Since 2018, that world has grown far beyond the mats. Half Sumo has collaborated across martial arts, sport, music and popular culture with names including adidas, Coca-Cola, MEGADETH, Netflix and more.
