OZZY OSBOURNE: 'I'd Be Completely Nuts Not To Put Out Another BLACK SABBATH Album'
July 7, 2007Ozzy Osbourne spoke to the Birmingham Mail earlier this week about whether he thinks there is a possibility that he will get back together with the other members of BLACK SABBATH — Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward — for another tour or even a brand new studio album.
"They're touring as HEAVEN AND HELL at the moment with Ronnie James Dio but I never say never," Ozzy said.
"I'd be completely nuts not to put out another BLACK SABBATH album," he continued. "The problem is, we could go into the studio now and make an album but it would have to be better than anything we'd done before. But if I ever retire I'd love to end my career performing with the band I first played with."
Ozzy returned to his home city of Birmingham, England yesterday (Friday, July 6) to accept the first place in a new Hollywood-style Walk of Stars.
Ozzy was greeted by around 1,500 fans who had braved intermittent rain for up to four hours while waiting in Birmingham's Centenary Square, according to Virgin Media.
The 58-year-old singer told the crowd his star (photo) on the Second City's streets meant far more to him than his spot on the pavement on the Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.
Addressing his fans from a stage set up in the square before unveiling the star, Ozzy said: "This means more to than any fucking Hollywood thing."
Ozzy is the first star to be inducted into the Walk of Stars on Birmingham's Broad Street.
"I am really honored," the Aston-born singer then told reporters. "All my family is here and I thank everyone for this reception — I'm absolutely knocked out."
Low-quality fan-filmed video footage of Ozzy Osbourne accepting the first place in Walk of Stars in Birmingham, England has been posted at YouTube.
He was presented with the honor, which has yet to be set into the pavement, by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Randal Brew.
Joining the recipient on stage, the Lord Mayor said: "We certainly need a Walk of Stars and I can't think of anyone more appropriate for the first star than Ozzy. He has been a credit to this city."
