OZZY OSBOURNE's Wife Will Not Attend Birmingham Walk of Stars Induction
July 5, 2007According to icBirmingham, Sharon Osbourne will not be by husband Ozzy's side when he is honored with a Hollywood-style star in Birmingham, England tomorrow (Friday, July 6).
Sharon said Ozzy's son Jack, eldest daughter Jessica and his grandchildren will attend the event instead.
The 54-year-old is busy U.K. talent show "X Factor" and working on another of Simon Cowell's shows, "American Idol", and said she regrets not being able to make the event on Friday.
"Ozzy will be emotional," Sharon exclusively told the Birmingham Mail. "He has come an awful long way from Aston as a kid with no money and a lot of dreams to having his own star on Broad Street. This means a lot to him and he is proud. Whenever he comes to do shows in Birmingham, he is always more nervous. He is more nervous there than when he does a gig in New York. Ozzy still counts himself as a Brummie and has never denied where he came from. He is proud of his heritage and I am really, really happy for him."
Ozzy, aged 58, also has a star named after him in the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame outside Mann's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, but his wife said Birmingham's star means much more.
"Ozzy has got a star in Hollywood with 100 other celebrities, but he will be the first one to have this in his home town of Birmingham. That is the best thing. Ozzy is on a 18-month world tour in every continent, while I am working in America and it is hard," added Sharon, who had children Kelly, Jack and Aimee with Ozzy. "I try as much as I can to fly back and forth to see him, so Ozzy is lonely and I'm lonely plus very jet lagged. There's not enough time in the day, but my main priority is my husband and my children."
