PANDEMIA Part Ways With Guitarist

November 19, 2005

Czech Republic-based death metallers PANDEMIA have parted ways with guitarist and founding member Alex Marek. The guitarist's official statement on his departure reads as follows:

"Well, nothing strange I guess, there has been many other musicians leaving bands and it just happened that I am one of that kind as well. The reason for me leaving the band is simple — to be free. Years pass and I am getting scared of losing more and more time being attached to the band and its activities, while there is hundreds things I wanna do and feel I must do to keep on evolving as a human being and to feel OK, and it starts to show on my mind and am getting frustrated in some ways. It doesn't mean I am quitting playing death metal, I will always be composing extreme songs and will publish them one way or another, that's actually the thing I am very sure of — never surrender as a death metal warrior. But now it's time to disappear in a way and make some order in my life and take a breath.

"Thanks to all my friends I've made during more than 10 years on the scene, we will surely keep in touch (my personal email is [email protected]),and most of all thanks to the surviving PANDEMIA warriors - you will make it HUGE, PANDEMIA must go on and you guys will make it! Keep the flame burning!"

PANDEMIA's third album, "Riven", is available in the U.S. and Europe via Metal Age Productions.
