PAPA ROACH Guitarist Talks Technique, Gear In New Video Interview

On January 27, Fret 12 conducted an interview with Jerry Horton, lead guitarist for PAPA ROACH, at the Congress Theater in Chicago during the band's co-headlining tour with STONE SOUR. Jerry spoke about his influences, tone ideas, live and studio gear and custom cars, among other topics. You can now watch the chat below.

As a founding member of PAPA ROACH, Jerry has helped create an ultra-unique sound that has helped make his band one of the most memorable rock groups of the last 15 years. PAPA ROACH has found a way to combine elements of hard rock, heavy metal, hip hop, and even pop in their music; which has proven to be a recipe that fans have adored since Day 1.

Having been the creative force behind addictive riffs from the palm muted 16th note verse riff in "Last Resort" to the strumming/more poppy sounding guitar parts in songs like "Scars", Jerry has been able to craft many of the riffs that helped to define a new movement in hard rock. Even today, Jerry continues to find new sounds and tones in his songwriting and continues to help craft songs that fans love, while keeping his older signature sound alive underneath.
