PAPA ROACH Taps UNWRITTEN LAW Drummer
April 27, 2007PAPA ROACH has recruited UNWRITTEN LAW's Tony Palermo to fill in for drummer Dave Buckner, who is sitting out the band's current tour. A statement issued by the group's record label said, "(Buckner) has taken time off from touring with the band due to personal matters. All the members of PAPA ROACH are looking forward to having Buckner back on the road with them in the very near future." No date has been given for Buckner's return. PAPA ROACH is touring in support of its fourth major label album, "The Paramour Sessions", and plays this Saturday (April 29) at a radio festival in Orlando, Florida.
Frontman Jacoby Shaddix told Launch that PAPA ROACH thrives on its members'personal dramas. "Part of the chaos and the discontent and the madness that we have in our lives and that we bring to the table with the music is what makes, you know, who we are and the music that we make, you know," he said. "And I think if everything was just all cool and we got along perfect and we loved each other every single moment of every single day, I don't think we'd even have the passion to make music or make the music that we do make."
"The Paramour Sessions" has sold 201,000 copies since coming out last September. The set's latest single is called "Forever".
Shaddix, meanwhile, is hosting a new series for MTV called "Scarred" that takes a look at the people who make the countless numbers of user-generated videos that show up on web sites like YouTube.
