DARKESTRAH has been playing its brand of innovative black metal since 1999, releasing three acclaimed albums: "Sary Oy", "Embrace of Memory" and "Epos". While DARKESTRAH is now based in Germany, the band formed in the central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan.

Great melodic parts were paired with traditional instruments like Kyl-kyjak, Komuz or Sygyt. Female black metal vocals and singing that created the atmosphere of the spiritual shamanic people.

DARKESTRAH's brand new album will be out in early 2008 through Paragon. More information, clips, and photos on can be found on the band's web site.
