PARTY.SAN Festival Organizers To TAAKE: We Do Not Support 'Christian-Influenced Nazi Scum'
March 26, 2007The organizers of the Party.San Metal Open Air festival (set to take place August 9-11, 2007 in Bad Berka, Germany) have issued a statement explaining their decision to remove Norwegian black metallers TAAKE from the billing of this year's event after the group' singer appeared on stage in Essen, Germany last week with a swastika symbol drawn on his chest.
Commented the organizers: "We as Party.San Open Air do not support any political content regarding black metal music. Even if TAAKE now protest their innocence on their webpage we wouldn't support a black metal band which needs a swastika to provoke or to superimpose their lack of musicianship. We only support the true evil black metal and no Christian-influenced Nazi scum!"
As a result of TAAKE frontman Hoest's actions, the band has also been officially removed from the billing of the Tomahawk Festival festival (set to take place March 31, 2007 in Osnabrück, Germany) and the Ragnarök festival (scheduled for March 30-31, 2007 in Lichtenfels, Germany).
TAAKE's third album, "Doedskvad", was released in 2005 via Dark Essence Records. The band had previously released two albums on the Wounded Love label: "Nattestid..." (1999) and "Bjoergvin" (2002). "Doedskvad" is the last installment in this trilogy.
