PAUL DI'ANNO: Panama City Beach Footage Available
February 9, 2010Fan-filmed video footage of former IRON MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno's February 5, 2010 concert in Panama City Beach, Florida can be viewed below (courtesy of John Latham / "CuchulainTheCelt2003").
Di'Anno kicked off his U.S. tour on January 26 at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey.
Support on the trek is coming from Pittsburgh traditional metallers ICARUS WITCH (who are also serving as Di'Anno's backing band for the tour).
Di'Anno's visa was approved by the U.S. State Department, making it possible for the singer to embark on his first U.S. tour in over 15 years.
Paul is among the scheduled presenters at the 21st Pollstar Concert Industry Awards, which will be held on February 17, 2010 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California. This year's show is hosted by Kathleen Madigan — the comedian Lewis Black (a four-time host of the Pollstar Awards) describes as "the funniest woman in America."
When asked by Vue Weekly in a 2009 interview about the possibility of releasing a new studio album in the not-too-distant future, Di'Anno replied, "We did five new tracks in Germany [in 2008] — it's very industrialized — but we got in a bit of an argument with the record company and we told them to piss off, basically. So I kept them songs and a friend of mine in Salisbury down in Southwest England, handed me 16 pieces of music so I'm going to go away when I have a bit of time and see what I can come up with for that."
