PEARL JAM Frontman Pens Song For CHICAGO CUBS

September 22, 2008

According to The Pulse of Radio, PEARL JAM frontman Eddie Vedder has written a song called "All The Way" for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. The track, which Vedder debuted live at a solo gig in the Windy City last month, is already getting airplay at Chicago radio stations and bars. It will soon be available for downloading at PEARL JAM's web site. Cubs player Ernie Banks reportedly asked Vedder, a longtime fan, to write the song as the Cubs head to the playoffs and a shot at their first World Series victory since 1908.

Vedder spent much of the past summer on the road, either with PEARL JAM or on his second solo tour.

His 2007 soundtrack for the movie "Into The Wild" served as a debut solo album for the singer.

Other members of PEARL JAM are also working on solo projects, while the band itself will regroup in the fall to work on songs for its ninth studio album.
