PEARL JAM Photo Book Now Available

October 13, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: A new book featuring 180 previously unreleased photos of PEARL JAM is now available through the band's web site, according to Billboard.com. The book, called "5x1: Pearl Jam Through the Eye of Lance Mercer", features photos by longtime band friend Lance Mercer, mostly focusing on the first half of the group's career. Also included are written tributes from Bruce Springsteen, director Cameron Crowe, actor Tim Robbins, R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, THE WHO's Pete Townshend, Boston Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein and others.

A limited edition of the book went on sale Wednesday (October 11) at PearlJam.com for $40.

Mercer previously collaborated with famed Seattle music scene photographer Charles Peterson on a 1998 PEARL JAM photo book called "Place/Date".

PEARL JAM will be honored tonight (Friday, October 13) by Seattle's YouthCare organization for its work in assisting homeless and high-risk young people in the area.

The band will perform at Neil Young's annual Bridge School Benefit concerts on October 21 and October 22 outside San Francisco.
