PEARL JAM To Perform On CONAN O' BRIEN's 'Tonight Show' Debut Episode
May 18, 2009PEARL JAM will be the featured musical guests on Conan O'Brien's first-ever episode as host of "The Tonight Show" on June 1. According to a post on the band's web site, PEARL JAM will perform songs from their upcoming studio album on O'Brien's inaugural episode, which airs exactly two weeks from today.
In other news, PEARL JAM is asking fans for help in deciding which live songs should be included in what apparently is going to be a PEARL JAM-centered edition of the Rock Band video game, due out next year. According to FMQB.com, Rhapsody subscribers can visit the band's official website, listen to different versions of 43 songs and choose which ones they prefer.
As reviously reported, surveillance camera footage of the swift and shocking attack in which PEARL JAM bassist Jeff Ament was robbed behind Southern Tracks Recording in Atlanta has been posted online by the Associated Press. The footage shows the three masked men swarming the Jeep just as it parks at the studio, where PEARL JAM is recording its ninth album. Ament flees the vehicle, is chased and clubbed to the ground, while the other two men quickly take what they want and escape off camera. Ament's companion gets out of the truck in a rather odd manner, walking calmly after the three men before turning to check on Ament. A studio employee also comes out as Ament sits up and waves to him.
The thieves robbed Ament of his passport, $3,000 in cash and two laptops. Ament had to receive treatment for a head laceration from EMS on the scene.
No arrests have been made in the April 27 crime and PEARL JAM has not commented on the incident.
