PHILIP ANSELMO Reportedly Working On Autobiography
July 29, 2008According to a posting on legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin's official web site, vocalist Philip Anselmo (DOWN, PANTERA, SUPERJOINT RITUAL) has begun writing his autobiography. Anselmo apparently revealed the news to Halfin this past Sunday (July 27) in Istanbul, Turkey where DOWN performed as the support act for METALLICA.
Writing in the "Diary" section of his web site, Ross says, "I walk to the dressing room and Phil grabs me for a hug while The Snake [SKID ROW guitarist Dave 'Snake' Sabo, who manages DOWN as part of the successful management company McGhee Entertainment headed up by Doc McGhee — Ed.] looks on with jealousy. Phil tells me he's writing a book about his time doing what he does and it'll include his time in PANTERA."
Philip Anselmo revealed in an online post last week that DOWN has recorded at least six new songs for a possible new CD which may also include previously unreleased material from the "Over the Under" sessions.
DOWN's video for the song "On March The Saints" can be viewed on YouTube. The track comes off the group's latest album, "Over the Under", which was released on September 25, 2007 through ILG/Warner Music Group (one day earlier internationally via Roadrunner Records). The LP was issued in Europe as a limited-edition digipack CD featuring the bonus track "Invest in Fear".
