PILEDRIVER: Cleveland Concert Footage Available

September 19, 2007

Video footage of Canadian metal legends PILEDRIVER performing the new song "Metal Manifesto" at the "Metal On Metal 25th Anniversary Concert" on Saturday, September 15 at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio can be viewed below (courtesy of Metalfanzine.net). Also appearing on the bill were RAVEN, ANVIL, and DESTRUCTOR. The concert celebrated the 25th anniversary (1982-2007) of Bill Peters' "Metal On Metal" radio program, heard every Friday night in Cleveland on WJCU 88.7 FM and streamed live worldwide. The very popular underground radio program has featured import and independent heavy metal for parts of the past three decades.

PILEDRIVER shocked and awed the metal world with the release in 1984 on Roadrunner Records of their now-infamous "Metal Inquisition" album. The LP featured songs such as "Witch Hunt", "Sex With Satan", "Sodomize The Dead", "Human Sacrifice", "Alien Rape" and the classic title track. Garnering rave reviews and brisk sales, "Metal Inquisition" quickly became one of the best underground metal albums of the decade. Through it all and with rumors flying rampant in the metal underground, the bandmembers' identities remained a mystery. In 1986, PILEDRIVER released their second album on Roadrunner entitled "Stay Ugly". The album was a progression of aggression, featuring a trashier-thrashier sound but still maintaining the sick level of humor fans were expecting. Then suddenly and without warning, PILEDRIVER disappeared for two decades. Over the years, the legend of PILEDRIVER grew and grew. Finally, after years of hibernation, the band has returned to play live shows and record new material.

PILEDRIVER's current lineup:

The Exalted Piledriver (vokills)
Kinky Pork Cream (guitars)
Lobo Elf Schnort (bass)
Glace Frothfritter (drums)

The band toured Europe earlier this year and is working on a new studio album entitled "Metal Manifesto".
